Professor Youshi Hong recently accepted the invitation from the international journal Fatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials & Structures (FFEMS) and the Wiley-Blackwell Publishing Company to take over the new Editor-In-Chief of FFEMS from January 2012. Prior to this, Professor Hong had been the associate editor of this journal from 2000 to 2003, and from 2007 to 2011. Professor Hong has engaged in the research of fatigue and fracture for many years, and has obtained important achievements which are accepted by the international community of relevant field. He is one of the few Chinese scholars serving as Editor-In-Chief of international academic journals.
FFEMS is one of the important international journals in the field of fatigue and fracture, and publishes 90~100 papers in 12 issues per year by Wiley-Blackwell. FFEMS was founded by the famous Professor Keith J. Miller in 1979, who was Editor-In-Chief until 2000. In the following 11 years, Professor Eann Patterson of University of Liverpool and Professor John Yates of University of Manchester served as the Chair Editor, respectively.
