Guowei He

Guowei He is a professor of fluid dynamics and Chair of the Academic Committee in the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. He was elected as an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017. He has served as an associated editor for Acta Mechanica Sinica and the deputy editor-in-chief for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters. He is a fellow of APS and serves as an editorial committee member for the APS journal PRF.
Dr. He received his Ph.D in theoretical and applied mechanics from Northwestern Polytechnic University of China in 1991. He was a postdoc in Center for Theoretical Physics of CNRS at Marseille and Center for Astrophysics of CEA at Saclay in France. After working in the Los Alamos National Laboratory for three years, he took the position of Senior Staff Scientist in ICASE at NASA Langley Research Center. He served as the Director of State Key Laboratory for Nonlinear Mechanics in Beijing from 2005 to 2015.
His current interests include: turbulence statistical theory and computational modeling, large-eddy simulation of turbulence-generated noise and fluid-structure interaction, bio-locomotion and machine learning.
