Scientist of Engineering Thermophysics; A native of Suzhou, Jiangsu province; Graduated from National Southwest Associated University in 1940; Received PhD Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA in 1947; Research professor of Institute of Engineering Themophysics.

Returned to China from abroad in 1954; Deputy Director of IMCAS from October 1960 to May 1980; Elected as Member (Academician) of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1957.
