Scientist of Mechanics, Mathematics and Physics; A native of Wujin, Jiangsu Province; Graduated from Jiaotong University in 1939; Received PhD Degree in Aeronautics, Mathematics & Mechanics in Comell University, USA in 1949; Research Professor of IMCAS.

Returned to China from abroad in 1965; Deputy Director of IMCAS from March 1981 to February 1984; Elected as Member (Academician) of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1980.
